About Nancy & Jim

About Jim Heaverlo
Jim has a long list of dance credits to his name. At the age of 3, he made his stage debut performing "The Waltz Clog" in a preschool chorus line. By the age of 4, he began his illustrious partnering career by performing a tap duet with Miss Barbara Bell to "I Love YOU A Bushel and a Peck".

He continued his Tap career until the age of 15 when he attended a performance of the New York City Ballet and was mesmerized by the athletic power and grace of the Principal Male dancers. He began his classical ballet training from that day forward. At the age of 17, on a lark, he auditioned for San Diego Ballet Company and was hired.

Simultaneously, he entered USI University in San Diego, California where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. His Primary Classical Ballet training was obtained while dancing with San Diego and San Francisco Ballet and his Contemporary Ballet training with Gene Marinaccio while a member of the American Concert Ballet in Los Angeles. Additionally, he trained and was invited to join, The Norwegian National Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theater.

Jim brings his classical dance training and expertise to partner dancing in West Coast Swing, Night Club 2 step and Hustle through his clean lines, body flight and powerful presence on the dance floor. In addition, he is a graduate of an intensive 3 year, 1000 hour Pilates certification program and teaches Pilates full time while teaching and traveling with Nancy through out the Continental United States, Canada and Hawaii.
